The 22nd Annual Business Excellence Awards took place on November 7th at the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier in North Vancouver.

The North Vancouver Chamber is proud to celebrate the local businesses that go above and beyond in their commitment to business excellence. The Business Excellence Awards is an annual recognition of these successful businesses, and their contributions to our economy and passion for the North Vancouver community. This special event featured short films created by the Capilano University film students profiling each of the nominated businesses. In addition to raising the profile of the recipients in the community, the awards provide much deserved recognition to business entrepreneurs in our community. Click here to watch the films.

Capilano Maritime Design Ltd

Offering innovative solutions to complex problems in the marine industry, Capilano Maritime Design Ltd is a full-service naval architecture and marine engineering design firm. The company offers naval architecture, marine survey, and design services. The company’s focus is on providing services for projects involving all manner of workboats including tugs, barges, crew boats, marine construction vessels, and ferries.

 

SUSTAINABILITY AWARD

Naikoon Contracting Ltd

With higher than average green standards on every project, and with a focus on net-zero and passive house design, Naikoon Contracting Ltd is one of the most experienced and accredited high-performance home builders in the country. Naikoon builds quality, well-built homes using sustainable construction practices and completed a diverse range of projects including food processing facilities, airport terminals, civil work upgrades and community centres. 

  

SERVICE EXCELLENCE AWARD

Ava Music & Art Centre

Ava Music opened its doors in 1995 as a private music studio, established by Mr. Fred Safaei, and has since grown and flourished in the North Vancouver community. Ava Music recognizes the significant impact of arts education on lifelong cognitive development and its primary goal is to provide a strong education in the arts, coupled with the best customer service. The school’s extensive music program includes music and theory lessons as well as Orff and Kodaly.

Melanie Gagnon took over ownership of Cork It Wine Making in 2011. In operation on the North Shore since 2000, Cork It Winemaking is one of North Vancouver’s coolest wine making equipment and supply stores. For Melanie, wine making is not only a magic form of art, but it is also a way to bring people together, and Melanie’s passion for the industry is evident in the growth and success of Cork It Winemaking.
