CHAMBER IN ACTION:  A taste of what we’ve been up to over the past few weeks …

Summer Social success!

12 10

Our signature summer event brought together fresh connections and familiar faces. Thank you to everyone who stopped by “our house” for a casual night of networking and nibbles. A special thank you to our Event Sponsor, BMO Financial Group, and to North Shore McDonald’s and Stong’s Market for the delicious lemonade and cookies! See more photos from the Summer Social

Walk & Talk: Behind the scenes at Murdo Frazer Cabin

11 3

Our members got an exclusive inside look at one of North Vancouver’s most filmed landmarks—the Murdo Frazer cabin! From MacGyver and The X-Files to Virgin River, Stargate SG-1, and even the iconic Shaw Yule Log, this historic cabin has had quite the star-studded career. Huge thanks to Jennifer Janetka, District of North Vancouver Film + Events Coordinator, for the fascinating tour, and to PARC Retirement Living for sponsoring this Walk & Talk! We’re crossing the Seymour River Suspension Bridge in August on our next Walk & Talk adventure. Register: nvchamber.ca/events

A warm welcome for our new board members!

New board

It was nice connecting over lunch at Liberty Kitchen with some of our new board members, including Lisa Archer (Zing Strategy Inc.), Argi Ahmadi (TransLink), Brent Williston (Neptune Terminals), and Dr. Laura Kinderman (Yorkville University, British Columbia).

NV Chamber shares networking secrets on WorkBC podcast!

podcast

Our CEO, Patrick Stafford-Smith, joined the WorkBC Get a Job! podcast in July, along with Jennifer McKinnon (CEO, Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce) to discuss how local Chambers of Commerce in Metro Vancouver can boost your career. He shares insights on connecting with local businesses, effective networking, volunteering as a path to employment, and ways job seekers can stand out in today’s market. Listen to Patrick’s interview and learn some valuable tips!

Strengthening Ties: North Van & Delta Chambers collaborate for local business

Patrick enjoyed a productive meeting with Richard Wischnewski, Executive Director of the Delta Chamber of Commerce! We truly value the opportunity to share ideas, align on priorities, and explore new ways to support our local business communities. Looking forward to continued collaboration!

Bridging Communities: North Van & Richmond Chambers explore shared opportunities

  IMG_7726

Patrick connected with Aleena Hussain, Communications & Events Manager with the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, for a great conversation about the shared opportunities between our two communities. Richmond and North Vancouver may be separated by geography, but we’re connected through many of the same industries — including the tourism and marine sectors. Our discussion explored ways we can learn from each other’s successes, support local businesses, and strengthen economic growth.
