The North Vancouver Chamber continues to strengthen its advocacy efforts, bringing local business priorities to the national stage.
CEO Jonathan Mosley engaged with chamber and board of trade leaders from across Canada at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce AGM and Convention in Victoria, October 28–29, 2026.
Working alongside colleagues in the BC Chamber Caucus, the North Vancouver Chamber was proud to help advance policy in several critical areas, including:
- Further strengthening Canada’s internal and interprovincial trade
- Improving and reforming visa and immigration programs to better match workforce needs
- Simplifying tax regulations to benefit small business
- Furthering Canada’s clean tech and critical mineral initiatives
These priorities reflect many of the challenges and opportunities facing North Vancouver businesses, from workforce needs and regulatory burdens to accessing new markets and supporting innovation.
Amplifying North Vancouver’s voice on the national stage
As part of a strong national network of chambers of commerce, the North Vancouver Chamber helps ensure local business perspectives are represented in policy discussions that shape Canada’s economic future.
Our connections with the BC Chamber of Commerce, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and chambers across the country strengthen our advocacy efforts and provide opportunities to collaborate on issues affecting businesses of all sizes.
By working together, chambers amplify the voice of local businesses and help advance policies that support a stronger, more competitive Canadian economy.
Building a stronger Canada together
Hosted by the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce at the Victoria Conference Centre, the two-day convention brought together chamber executives and business leaders from coast to coast to explore the trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping Canadian business.
The conference focused on three key pillars: Nation Building, Business Building, and Community Building.
Through policy debates, presentations, and discussions, chamber leaders exchanged ideas, strengthened connections, and helped shape the Canadian Chamber’s advocacy priorities for the coming year.
The event also celebrated leadership and innovation across Canada’s Chamber Network.
Congratulations to the Greater Langley, Abbotsford and Mission Chambers for winning the Chamber Future Builders Competition in the Nation Building category, and to the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce for its recognition in the Business Builder category.
Unlocking AI opportunities for small businesses
A highlight of the convention was the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s announcement of a new initiative to help small businesses unlock opportunities through artificial intelligence.
Launching in January 2027, the two-year program aims to support more than 10,000 Canadian small and medium-sized businesses through practical AI training, workshops, and resources delivered through the national Chamber Network.
As AI continues to transform the business landscape, initiatives like this can help small businesses explore new technologies, improve productivity and strengthen their competitiveness.
