The North Vancouver Chamber was pleased to welcome representatives from the West Highland Chamber of Commerce and a delegation of Scottish businesses to Grouse Mountain on October 26 for a special international networking reception with our members.
Against a backdrop of spectacular mountain views, the afternoon brought together business leaders to exchange ideas, explore opportunities, and build new connections.
Building business connections across the pond and up the mountain
The networking experience was just as memorable as the setting!
Guests had the opportunity to check out Grouse Mountain’s sleek new Skyride cabins, taking business networking to new heights!
It was a unique way to bring business leaders together while celebrating Grouse Mountain’s 100th anniversary.
The reception provided an opportunity for Scottish delegates to introduce their businesses, showcase their products and services, and connect directly with North Vancouver’s business community.
The delegation represented a diverse range of industries, from premium Scotch whisky and handcrafted gin to botanical skincare and international education.
Participating businesses included:
- Grand Drams – Scotch whisky
- Speyside Distillers Ltd. – Scotch whisky
- Seven Crofts – Scottish gin
- Titan Spirits Ltd. – Craft spirits
- Raven Botanicals – Botanical skincare
- TEFL.com – English language teaching opportunities
It was a valuable opportunity to learn more about these businesses, share experiences, and explore potential connections between our two regions.
More in common than mountains
While separated by an ocean, North Vancouver and the Scottish West Highlands share some striking similarities.
From spectacular mountain landscapes and outdoor recreation to thriving tourism sectors and vibrant small business communities, both regions understand the importance of supporting local enterprise while building connections beyond their borders.
Throughout the afternoon, conversations flowed, ideas were exchanged, and new connections formed.
Strengthening international business relationships
Events like this reflect the North Vancouver Chamber’s commitment to connecting local businesses with new people, perspectives, and opportunities.
We were delighted to showcase North Vancouver’s welcoming business community and help create meaningful connections with our Scottish visitors.
A special thank you to our Venue Sponsor, Grouse Mountain, and Event Supporter, Vancouver’s North Shore Tourism Association, for helping us extend such a warm North Shore welcome.
Thank you as well to the West Highland Chamber of Commerce, our Scottish delegates, and all the Chamber members who joined us for this memorable afternoon of international connections.
Slàinte mhath! (Good health!)
