Dear North Vancouver Business Community,
As we’ve learned, trade talks between Canada and the U.S. broke down on Friday night, and 50% tariffs are now in effect on roughly $27 billion of Canadian goods. B.C. is particularly exposed, while Canada’s counter-tariffs are expected to take effect September 8, increasing costs for businesses importing from the U.S.
The BC Chamber of Commerce has prepared a summary outlining the sectors most affected, where the impacts are concentrated in B.C., and practical steps businesses can take.
Help us understand the local impact.
If your business is affected, whether you’re losing U.S. customers or facing higher costs on U.S. inputs, the BC Chamber network is collecting stories from businesses across B.C. to help inform government supports and future roundtables.
You can also reply to this email and let us know what you’re seeing. Your feedback helps us, the North Vancouver Chamber, understand the local impact and advocate for our business community.
We’ll continue to share updates and resources as they become available.
Sincerely,
The North Vancouver Chamber Team
