We are a not-for-profit, membership-based organization dedicated to fostering a thriving business climate in North Vancouver. As part of our small, supportive team, you’ll assist with administrative operations, events, and communications that help our members succeed.
Position Overview
Position Title: Events & Admin Coordinator
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Location: North Vancouver Chamber Office
Position Type: Part-Time Contract (20 hours/week). Initial contract will be until the end of 2026.
Compensation: $18.25-$21.00/hour
Schedule: 20 hours/week (weekdays, generally between 9 a.m.–5 p.m.)
Flexibility is required for occasional events outside regular hours
The Part-Time Events & Admin Coordinator plays a vital role in keeping our Chamber of Commerce running smoothly and engaging our business community. Reporting directly to the CEO, this multifaceted role balances the hands-on logistics of our networking events, workshops, and signature annual functions with key administrative and member support operations.

Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Respond to business inquiries in-person, by phone, and by email
- Provide community information and local business resources
- Assist with the coordination and execution of Chamber events
- Maintain organized project records and filing systems
- Conduct basic research on local business trends, prospective members, and best practices from other chambers to support growth initiatives
- Support the Chamber team with day-to-day office tasks
Events
- Responsible for event logistics, including venue booking, catering, managing guest lists, check-in process, event setup, and takedown
- Supports and uses repeatable processes for event management and administration to make organization and administration easier and more efficient for future events; uses checklists that itemize all aspects of event strategy, budget, preparation, delivery, and follow-up
- Supports development of tools and packages to assist hosts in their role and ensure everyone responsible for delivery is aware of what’s required of them
- Actively attends to all tasks related to setup and takedown of events
Communications & Marketing
- Prepare project-related correspondence
- Assist with internal reports and data review
- Conduct research, analyze, and compile information for ongoing projects
Candidate Requirements
- Strong customer service, communication, attention to detail, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated business intuition and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in MS Office 365, and Adobe Suite (Experience with Canva and Customer Management Software is considered an asset)
- Comfortable working in a quiet office setting, both individually and with a team
- Ability to set up event spaces (moving banners, tables, chair arrangements, light packing/lifting up to 25–30 lbs)
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person with refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada
