We’re proud to share that two North Vancouver Chamber policy resolutions were unanimously adopted at the 2025 BC Chamber of Commerce AGM, held June 3–5 in Nanaimo.

A Reduction of Interprovincial Trade Barriers is a call to action for provincial and federal governments to eliminate outdated barriers that restrict the free movement of goods, services, and professional credentials across Canada. Strengthening internal trade will enhance economic resilience and support business growth across BC.

Reducing Electricity Bills for Small Business & Non-Profits in BC is a recommendation to reform the BC Hydro rate structure for the Small General Service sector. This policy pushes for fair, just, and reasonable rates—helping small businesses and community organizations manage rising operating costs.

The BC Chamber of Commerce is a trusted government partner and a strong voice in shaping the decisions and policies that drive our economy. Policy resolutions adopted at the AGM, including ours, become part of the BC Chamber’s advocacy agenda with the provincial government.

These policy wins reflect our deep commitment to advancing economic opportunities, not only for North Vancouver businesses, but for communities across British Columbia.

The BC Chamber AGM brought together chamber leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, and policymakers from across the province to explore solutions to shared challenges.

North Vancouver Chamber CEO Patrick Stafford-Smith received insights from policy experts and industry leaders on how businesses can navigate today’s complex economic landscape.

The event also provided meaningful opportunities to engage with representatives from all levels of government—local, provincial, and federal—on the issues that matter to the business community.
