CRA Consultation: Work-Space-In-The-Home Expenses

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is working to clarify and clearly communicate whether employees required to work from home during COVID-19 can claim work-space-in-the-home expenses. A significant part of CRA’s plan is the introduction of a new version of Form T2200, Declaration of Conditions of Employment, known as the T2200 Short.

CRA would like your feedback on the draft T2200 Short and the work-space-in-the-home deduction for the upcoming tax season during a one-hour session with officials on Friday, September 11 at 1:00 p.m. ET. You can review the T2200 consolidated response template to prepare your feedback for Friday’s consultation.

This is an important opportunity to provide input on a matter that touches the 3.4 million Canadians that began working from home this year as a result of COVID-19. *For members of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s network only.
