The 21st Annual Business Excellence Awards took place on November 9th at the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier in North Vancouver.

The North Vancouver Chamber is proud to celebrate the local businesses that go above and beyond in their commitment to business excellence. The Business Excellence Awards is an annual recognition of these successful businesses, and their contributions to our economy and passion for the North Vancouver community. Click here to see photos of the event.

This special event featured short films created by the Capilano University film students profiling each of the nominated businesses. In addition to raising the profile of the recipients in the community, the awards provide much deserved recognition to business entrepreneurs in our community. Click here to watch the films.

Sustainability Award – Bluhouse Market and Cafe (Jennifer McCarthy)

Jennifer McCarthy is the founder of Bluhouse Market and Cafe. Memories of growing up with her Dad washing the earth off a big bunch of carrots and helping her Mom pick raspberries, planted the seeds of a desire to know where food comes from. She was fortunate to have this connection early in life and has nourished it on a quest for local, organic eating as a way of supporting our planet, farmers and communities while feeding her soul. Moving to Vancouver in 2010 and discovering the Trout Lake Farmer’s market encouraged her to bring the incredible spirit of the market to Deep Cove with Bluhouse Cafe.
