North Vancouver Chamber informs members of CEO transition

The North Vancouver Chamber has informed its members that CEO Patrick Stafford Smith will be stepping down after a decade of dedicated leadership. Patrick, who joined the Chamber in 2015, has advised the Board of Directors of his decision to pursue new opportunities.

The Board has initiated the search for a new CEO and will work closely with Patrick throughout the transition. To ensure continuity, Patrick will remain in his role until a new CEO is in place, supporting the Chamber’s ongoing work as a resource, connector, and advocate for businesses across North Vancouver.

During his tenure, Patrick played a leading role in advancing key economic priorities on the North Shore, including transportation and transit, business regulation and taxation, and the importance of supporting local businesses. He championed initiatives that strengthened an inclusive economy and supported pathways to employment for all.

Under his leadership, the Chamber expanded its advocacy on critical issues such as employment lands, childcare, the marine and waterfront economy, senior care, transit connectivity, and workforce development. He also fostered impactful partnerships and initiatives, including GrowthHub with Capilano University, Impact North Shore, Vancouver’s North Shore Tourism Association, and “Shop the Shore.”

Patrick’s leadership was particularly significant during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he guided the Chamber and its members through unprecedented challenges. In the years since, the organization has experienced steady membership growth, strong event participation, and continued influence in policy and advocacy.

“The Board of Directors is deeply grateful for Patrick’s commitment to the North Vancouver business community,” said Jonathan Mosley, Chair of the Board. “His leadership has strengthened the Chamber’s role in building a connected community and a thriving economy.”

The Chamber will continue to advance its vision that a connected community is a thriving economy throughout this transition. Further details on the CEO recruitment process will be shared in the coming weeks.
