Family Services of the North Shore has been serving the North Shore communities for over 60 years, offering a variety of counselling, support, and education services to individuals and families. The agency supports residents in areas such as youth, seniors, caregivers, 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, and those experiencing grief or end-of-life issues. Capilano Community Services is a long-standing North Shore non-profit that builds community by offering low- and no-cost programs for children, youth, families, and seniors, with a special focus on residents who are vulnerable or at risk. Operating out of the Lions Gate Community Recreation Centre, they partner with local organizations and Indigenous communities to foster social connection, well-being, and a strong sense of belonging across the North Shore. North Shore Disability Resource Centre serves over 450 individuals through residential and community-based programs and provides information and advocacy support to more than 1,000 people with disabilities and their networks on the North Shore. The organization works to ensure that people with disabilities and their families are heard, supported, and able to participate fully and independently in their community. Spectrum Mothers Support Society is a non-profit charity that provides hands-on support to North Shore mothers with children under five, prioritizing low-income families, new immigrants, teenage mothers, and those caring for children with disabilities or behavioural challenges. The organization employs trained, CPR-certified Caregivers to help mothers manage daily challenges, improve their well-being, and enjoy parenting, even if only for a few hours a week. Donate here.
